Galileo Canada has released its unique travel Web portal, TravelGalileo.com, an online travel booking solution that combines the best of e-commerce with the professional service from a customer`s preferred travel consultant.
TravelGalileo.com is a B2B2C solution, free to Galileo Canada subscribers, with the e-commerce needs of Canadian travel agencies front and centre. Signing up to TravelGalileo.com will give agencies their own travel agency branded, content-rich and personalised Web site that can be accessed directly by customers or through TravelGalileo.com`s home page. TravelGalileo.com will help travel agencies attract more of the $18 billion in worldwide online airline ticket sales expected by 2004.(x) TravelGalileo.com is designed to be an easy-to-implement additional point of presence on the Web for participating agencies, serving as a seamless extension to traditional agency `brick and mortar` offices and business processes. Registering for the portal is as easy as sending an e-mail. Once registered, Galileo will work with the agency to create a uniquely branded Web site and URL that travellers can access directly by typing the agency`s unique URL or through the TravelGalileo.com homepage. Currently, 900 US agencies have become registered participants in TravelGalileo.com since the site was launched in the US in September 2000.
