Airbus crashes into Hudson river

US Airways flight 1549, an Airbus A320 en route to Charlotte from LaGuardia, with at least 152 people aboard, has crashed into the Hudson River in New York City but no loss of life has been reported.
  It has been confirmed that all 148 passengers and the crew of at least four were rescued from the sinking plane, with some suffering injuries on impact. It is understood that the plane may have collided with a flock of geese.

A number of people were injured and taken to New York hospitals on a day that had seen a snow storm in the morning and below freezing temperatures.
