SIA boosts A380 London service

Singapore Airlines will increase its A380 services on the Singapore-London route to double-daily from 20 September 2008.double-daily by the new superjumbo.
The second daily service will depart Singapore as flight SQ 318, and return from London as flight SQ 321. The third daily flight (SQ308 from Singapore, SQ319 from London) will continue to be operated by a Boeing 747-400 for the time being.
The SQ318 and SQ321 service is currently operated by an A380 four times weekly. The additional A380 flights will operate on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, following the delivery of the sixth A380 aircraft to Singapore Airlines from manufacturer Airbus in September 2008.
Singapore Airlines first started daily A380 operations between Singapore and London in March 2008, and increased frequency to 11 times a week in mid-July.
Tokyo. Singapore Airlines is the first to fly the A380, and the cabin product introduced by Singapore Airlines has been well received by customers since commercial services started in October last year.
The A380 features the revolutionary Singapore Airlines Suites, a new and luxurious class of travel where each Suite is the customer’s private cabin in the sky. The product was recognised as the “Best Airline Suite” in the Wallpaper Magazine Awards 2008.

Singapore Airlines has firm orders for a further 13 A380s and options on another six.
