Air Tahiti Nui links up with TGV

Air Tahiti Nui has joined forces with the French high-speed rail service - TGV - to provide onward services from Paris to 16 major destinations throughout France.The rail link, known as TGVair, combines flight and train tickets to make travelling to other major region cities in France more convenient and accessible.

Fares from Sydney to Paris aboard Air Tahiti Nui start from A$2599, and from A$2729 departing from Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra. These prices are based on low season travel and taxes are not included.

Onward TGV roundtrip journeys departing from Charles de Gaulle Airport are priced from $220 per person to Lyon; $254 to Bordeaux; and $284 to Marseille.

Mr Craig Lee, Regional Director Australia for Air Tahiti Nui, said the alliance with the TGV provided a vast and easy range of travel options for visitors to Europe.

“Air Tahiti Nui’s two-stop service to Paris, via idyllic Tahiti and exciting Los Angeles, can now go even further with the TGV alliance, which offers travellers a convenient and easy way to discover France,” said Mr Lee.

“TGVair enables travellers to transfer from plane to train without the need to repurchase a ticket or collect baggage - a very attractive and effortless option,” he said.

With an average speed of 300 kilometres per hour, and reaching speeds of up to 500 kilometres per hour, the TGV provides rapid and convenient transfers throughout France, delivering travellers direct from the airport to provincial cities.
