Orbitz, Avis Budget Group ink deal

Orbitz Worldwide has
reached an agreement with Avis Budget Group to distribute
Avis Rent A Car and Budget Rent A Car inventory through its Orbitz
and CheapTickets consumer brands and corporate travel offering, Orbitz for Business.

“We’re pleased to renew this alliance with two car rental brands that
have a strong history with Orbitz Worldwide and its customers,” said Sam
Fulton, vice president and general manager, transportation, Orbitz
Worldwide, Inc. “As Orbitz Worldwide works to offer more environmentally
sound alternatives to our customers, we’re pleased to immediately make
available Avis Budget Group’s fleet of gas/electric hybrid vehicles.”

In April 2007, Orbitz launched http://eco.orbitz.com, a microsite that
enables its customers to book more environmentally friendly travel. The
company also formed a partnership with Carbonfund.org
(http://www.carbonfund.org), enabling customers to offset their carbon
dioxide footprint related to their travels. Now customers can easily rent a
hybrid vehicle by visiting http://hybrids.orbitz.com or
http://hybrids.cheaptickets.com.

The agreement provides Orbitz Worldwide customers with access to rental
cars at Avis and Budget corporate-owned and select licensee locations in
the U.S. and Canada. This access includes its full fleet of car rental
choices, including the Avis Cool Car Collection, which features
gas/electric hybrids; the compact Toyota Prius, the full-size Nissan
Altima; and, available by year-end, the mini-SUV Ford Escape hybrid.

“Orbitz Worldwide is an important distributor for the Avis Budget
Group, and we look forward to our continued relationship with their
customers,” said Kaye Ceille, senior vice president, global travel and
partnerships. “Additionally, we look forward to working with Orbitz
Worldwide as we jointly develop special promotions to connect its customers
with our car rental brands.”
