Press: Alitalia plans to sell slots at Heathrow

Alitalia is planning to sell take-off and landing slots at Heathrow airport to help raise cash to fund operations, the daily Il Sole 24 Ore said without citing sources. The paper said the idea of selling slots is one of the measures included in Alitalia’s recent business plan to see off the airline’s liquidity crisis.

If Alitalia sold all its slots at Heathrow it could raise more than 45 mln eur, the Sole said.

At the end of June, Alitalia had 562 mln eur in liquidity compared to 706 mln at the end of 2006.
