Etihad appoints UK boss
Etihad Airways has appointed Clive Wratten as its new country manager for the United Kingdom.
Wratten will be responsible for Etihad’s UK operations and brings a wealth of experience which he has gained during a 20 year career in the airline and corporate travel industry.
He joins Etihad from his most recent role as head of international business group with UK-based HRG (Hogg Robinson Group). Prior to that, Wratten held corporate sales and country management positions in the UK market with Gulf Air, Qantas Airways and British Airways.
Geert W. Boven, Etihad Airways’ executive vice president, sales and services, said: “The UK is one of the most strategically important markets for Etihad Airways and Clive’s extensive experience and expertise will make a significant impact on our growth there.”
Before joining HRG, Wratten was the UK general manager for Gulf Air where he was responsible for restructuring the airline’s UK brand, marketing strategy and distribution model.
He has also held the positions of UK corporate sales manager for Qantas Airways and multinational business development manager for British Airways
Wratten said “Etihad Airways is one of the world’s fastest growing airlines and I am relishing the opportunity of expanding its brand and operations within the UK market.”

Etihad was recently named ‘Middle East’s Leading Airline,’ ‘Middle East’s Leading First Class Airline’ and ‘Middle East’s Leading Airline Website’ at the inaugural regional World Travel Awards, Middle East & Africa ceremony, that took place at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.
