Singapore Airlines to auction A380 tickets

Seats on the first commercial flight of the A380 between Singapore and Sydney with Singapore Airlines will be offered on eBay, with the proceeds going to charity.The airline will sell tickets in October, through eBay which has also agreed to subsidise the fees and charges for the auction.

Exxon Mobil Aviation has agreed to donate the fuel for the flight.

Proceeds will go to Singapore’s Community Chest, Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwich, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and Doctors Without Borders.

The auction will occur some weeks prior to the round-trip flight and prospective bidders can pre-register for details at .

Singapore Airlines was recently named ‘Asia’s Leading Business Class Airline,’ at the 2006 World Travel Awards.
