Holiday Inn opens at Santiago airport

IHG has announced the opening of the Holiday Inn Santiago Airport located at Armando Cortinez Norte 2150, Aeropuerto Internacional de Santiago de Chile. The 112-room hotel is the first Holiday Inn property to be situated within airport grounds in Latin America and the first Holiday Inn in Chile. The Holiday Inn Santiago Airport is owned by Talbot S.A., under a license agreement with a company in the InterContinental Hotels Group. Talbot S.A., owns seven other IHG hotels, including the Holiday Inn Express Puerto Madero in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and the Holiday Inn Express properties in Chile: Iquique, Concepcion, Antofagasta, Puerto Montt, Santiago and Temuco.

The five-story hotel is located at the Comodoro Arturo Merino Ben’tez Airport also known as Santiago International Airport, one of Latin America’s finest airports, and the hub for Chilean national carrier LAN. Major international carriers such as American Airlines, Air Canada, Air France, Iberia and Aerolineas Argentinas also fly into Santiago International Airport. This relatively new international airport servicing flights globally to Asia/Pacific, Europe and The Americas offers VIP lounges, a wide variety of dining options including bars, cafeterias and restaurants and has a number of shops, including duty-free and well-known retailers.

The Holiday Inn Santiago Airport features a full service bar and restaurant, room service, business center, eight meeting rooms to accommodate up to 150 people, Wi-Fi, sound-proof windows, fitness center, sauna, Jacuzzi, indoor swimming pool and on-site parking.

Santiago is one of South America’s most sophisticated cities and a booming metropolis that is home to five million people, nearly a third of Chile’s entire population. Santiago is considered the historical center of Chile and is close to a variety of day attractions, including wineries, ski resorts and beaches. Santiago boasts a one-of-a-kind location below some of the highest peaks of the Andes mountain range, providing a stunning city backdrop.

“This property is an exciting addition for us not only because of the airport location, but also because it is the eighth property we have developed with Talbot, S.A.,” said Alvaro Diago, area president, Latin America, IHG. “We have had a long and solid relationship with Talbot that has resulted in tremendous successes, and we look forward to opening more hotels with them throughout the Southern Cone of South America.”
