Press: ANA makes landing with wheels up

An All Nippon Airways (ANA) airliner with 60 people on board has made an emergency landing at a provincial airport, sliding along the runway on its nose after its front wheels failed to deploy, television stations reported. TV broadcasts showed the aircraft, with 56 passengers and a crew of four, sliding safely to a halt at Kochi airport on the southern island of Shikoku.

Before landing, the plane had circled the airport, as ambulances stood by on the ground, while the flight deck crew tried to deal with the problem with the landing gear.
