US Airways has welcomed the new year with the announcement of a new partnership with the Carolina Panthers NFL team. In addition to promotions and stadium signage at Bank of America Stadium, US Airways will paint the Panthers’ logo and team colors on a US Airways plane, to be unveiled later this year.

“The Carolina Panthers are one of the most exciting teams in football and no one knows that better than our Charlotte employees,” said US Airways Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Travis Christ. “We look forward to a long-lasting partnership, giving Panthers fans and the citizens of Charlotte their very own aircraft. And we’re delighted to place the US Airways name in the beautiful, state-of-the-art Bank of America Stadium.”

US Airways employs more than 4,700 aviation professionals at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, many of which are die-hard Panthers’ fans. It’s the airline’s largest hub, offering 534 daily flights to 122 non-stop destinations.
