Wotif appoints independent director

Dave Warneke has been appointed as a non-executive independent director for Wotif.com.

With over 25 years of experience across a variety of industries - including IT, financial services, professional services and construction and mining - Dave is an accomplished senior executive and company director. He has had extensive experience in advising senior executives and boards in strategic and operational planning and in the execution and implementation of large scale IT projects.

Dave was Managing Partner of Ernst & Young Consulting in Australia and CEO of Cap Gemini in Australia and New Zealand. He was also a member of Cap Gemini’s Asia Pacific management team responsible for the strategic direction and operational execution of Cap Gemini’s business across the region.

In addition to his role with the Wotif.com board, Dave is the chairman and non-executive director of Network Systems Integration Pty Ltd (an IT solutions business) and a non-executive director of Bevwizz Group Pty Ltd (a refrigeration solutions business). He is also an advisory board member of Dimension Data Pty Ltd (the Australian arm of a global IT services business) and a director of Kell & Rigby Pty Ltd (a construction business).

Wotif.com’s Chairman, Dick McIlwain, on announcing the appointment said: “Dave’s extensive experience gained at Ernst & Young and Cap Gemini together with his strong business track record will make him a valuable addition to the board.”

Adding to his professional experience Dave is also a fellow of, and accredited mentor to the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Dave’s appointment follows the retirement of Wotif.com’s former Chairman, board member and co-founder, Kevin Fitzpatrick who was instrumental in the company’s growth since inception in March 2000.
