Westin Reston Heights breaks ground

Starwood and The JBG Companies have announced the beginning of the construction of The Westin Reston Heights, bringing a new hotel to travelers to the Reston Heights area of Virginia. The Westin Hotels & Resorts property is owned by The JBG Companies and will be managed by Crestline Hotels & Resorts, Inc. under a long-term management agreement.

Situated at the intersection of Reston Parkway and the Dulles Toll Road in Reston, Virginia, The Westin Reston Heights is an ideal location for business and leisure travelers alike, bringing a respite for personal renewal to the area. The hotel will feature 175 guest rooms and approximately 6,000 square feet of meeting space. The hotel is scheduled to open in early 2008.

The Westin Reston Heights will be a full-service, state-of-the-art, meeting-friendly hotel, with upscale guestrooms. Each guestroom will boast amenities and services that cater to travelers in traditional Westin style with an oversized work desk, two-line cordless telephone with data port, high-speed wired and wireless Internet access, the new Westin WakeCup coffee brewer with complimentary Starbucks coffee, an in-room refreshment center and the Westin’s Service Express® (“One Call Does it All”) that permits guests to dial one extension to facilitate all service requests.

“We believe that The Westin Reston Heights will be an ideal retreat from the rigors of travel, offering guests a sanctuary to relax and be at their best,” said Sue Brush, Senior Vice President, Westin Hotels and Resorts.

The Westin Reston Heights will be the second Westin hotel to grace Northern Virginia, both developed by The JBG Companies. The Westin hotel is the third building to be constructed at JBG’s Reston Heights project. The hotel joins The Mercer, a 194-unit condominium building that was recently completed at 11780 Sunrise Valley Drive, and a 140,000 square foot office building currently under construction. Comprised of nearly 35 acres, Reston Heights is currently being master-planned by the renowned architecture firm of Cooper Robertson. Reston Heights is envisioned as a decidedly upscale lifestyle center, offering luxury office, residential, hotel and retail space.
