Shanghai Swiss™tel remains on course

The top-up ceremony at Swiss™tel Grand Shanghai last week marked a significant milestone in the hotel’s journey towards its targeted completion by the end of 2007.  The 478-room hotel, managed by Swiss™tel Hotels & Resorts, in partnership with Shanghai Jing An City Construction Fitting Development Company (Jing’an Chengjian), further strengthens Swiss™tel’s foothold in the buoyant China market.
The top-up ceremony was held at 12.18pm, signifying prosperity, abundance and a smooth completion of the project.  Present at the ceremony were Mr Meinhard Huck, Managing Director of Swiss™tel Hotels & Resorts, Mr Xu Jian Zhong, General Manager of Jing’an Chengjian as well as key personnel of both companies.
Mr Meinhard Huck expressed his appreciation to the staff of Jing’an Chengjian, praising them for their strong commitment to completing the project on schedule.  He added, “We certainly look forward to a hotel we can all be proud of when it opens.  It will no doubt be an icon of excellence in the city of Jing’an.  This will not be possible without your effort and I thank you all once again for your hard work.”

The 27-storey, 478-room Swiss™tel Grand Shanghai is conveniently located in the prime district of Jing’an, one of Shanghai’s central and most densely populated districts.  The hotel is within walking distance to Nanjing West Road, the city’s busiest shopping street lined by high-end shopping malls such as Plaza 66 and Citic Square.  It is approximately 50 minutes from the new Pudong International Airport or 20 minutes from the Hongqiao Airport, and is close to popular attractions such as the Jing’an Temple, Shanghai Grand Theatre and Shanghai Museum.  The hotel will have spa and gym facilities, a swimming pool, four restaurants and bars, Swiss Business Executive Club Floors and other business facilities.
