Malev resumes Beirut service

Malév has restarted scheduled flights to Beirut from 19 September 2006.  The Hungarian national carrier took the decision to restore operations to Beirut when, in the wake of the normalization of the situation in the Middle East, Israel lifted its air blockade against Lebanon, thereby re-establishing the conditions for secure operations.

The majority of airlines with services to Beirut have either restored flights to the Lebanese capital or signalled their intention to do so.

Malév will continue to fly between Budapest and Beirut twice a week at the usual scheduled times i.e. flights depart Budapest at 23.20 on Tuesday and Friday, and leave Beirut for the return leg the following day, on Wednesday and Saturday, departing at 04.10 in the morning.
