WORLDHOTELS strengthens UK team

WORLDHOTELS has set up a specialist group sales team to further improve support for meeting planners at its UK sales office in London’s Covent Garden, resulting in two new appointments.

New recruits Franziska Wunderlich and Antonella Lalia will join WORLDHOTELS’ newly-formed Europe, Middle East and Africa team as group sales executives. Franziska is from Nuremberg, Germany, where she studied English and Spanish before coming to London three years ago. Previous roles include a post at Le Meridien Central Reservations Office as individual reservations supervisor, followed by a position as conference & incentives group co-ordinator at the hotel chain’s regional sales office in London.
Antonella studied English and French literature at University before moving to London six years ago. She began her career within the travel industry with Le Meridien in 2002, working in the central reservations office as a reservations team leader, before moving to the regional sales office in London as sales coordinator, working with the Sales team.

“WORLDHOTELS has always enjoyed a strong personal relationship with the corporate and individual travel markets in the UK, and can count well recognised companies as clients, including Zibrant, HBI, Rand, Banks Sadler, BI and Maritz.” says Mark Gorgon, Director of Sales & Marketing, UK & Ireland. “Due to a significant upturn in groups business in the recent months it was necessary to increase our dedicated, specialist team to the UK to provide the same kind of quality service for meeting planners for which we have become justifiable renowned.”

WORLDHOTELS offers the MICE arranger a fast, professional service via it’s efficient automated web tool, WORLDHOTELS.events (www.worldhotels.com/meetings), and it’s competent and personal group sales desks. WORLDHOTELS.events provides enquirers with feed-back within 24 hours, after the meeting planner has identified the hotels that match his/her criteria, including rates on rooms, meeting space and banqueting, all via a single dedicated point of contact for all properties worldwide.

The new UK group sales full service desk takes meeting planners through every step of the planning phase, from the request for a proposal up to contracting.
