oneworld unveils new-style website

oneworld has unveiled a new-style, more user-friendly website, making it easier to check flight schedules across its global network and see where its member airlines fly.oneworld.com has been completely redesigned with a fresh look and easier-to-follow navigation and now features:

An interactive network map, showing every one of the destinations its member airlines serve and the routes they fly from each of those airports.
An ability to check, direct from the site’s home page, schedules for its member airlines, affiliates and code-share partners, with more direct links to their own websites for customers who want to book flights on-line.
Specific sites, in local languages, tailored to key countries including Canada, France, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands and Switzerland, including pages dedicated to travel agents in each of these countries.
More detailed information on the alliance’s unrivalled range of fares, including downloadable brochures in a choice of nine languages, maps showing sample itineraries and an interactive tool to help plan round-the-world journeys.
Extensive links to the appropriate pages of its member airlines’ own websites for customers who want more information about them or ask questions about them or the alliance.

Popular features have been retained and improved, such as:

Timetables covering flights offered by all its member airlines, downloadable in formats for PCs, PDAs or in PDF.
Details of oneworld’s services and benefits for frequent flyers.
Guides to key alliance hub airports and cities
The alliance’s on-line pressroom, including latest news, background information and downloadable logos and pictures.

oneworld’s existing eight member airlines - American Airlines, British Airways, Qantas, Cathay Pacific, Iberia, LAN, Finnair and Aer Lingus - plus their 12 affiliates today serve more than 600 destinations in some 135 countries with more than 8,150 flights a day.

Early next year, they will be joined by Japan Airlines and five of its affiliates, plus Malév and Royal Jordanian, expanding its coverage to almost a hundred more destinations and half dozen more countries, and taking its daily departures to more than 9,000.

oneworld Vice-President Commercial Nicolas Ferri said: “Our overall objective in relaunching oneworld.com is to make it more useful to our customers, rather than simply providing basic information about the alliance. So we’ve made it easier for visitors to find the site’s most popular features and added new elements we know will be immensely popular, like our new interactive network map.”


oneworld has also been nominated at this year’s World Travel Awards in the category of World’s Leading Alliance.
