First Choice rolls out EasySell

First Choice is revealing plans to roll-out the latest release of Comtec’s EasySell leisure travel selling system across its retail network.
Following a successful pilot at three of its locations, First Choice will begin a phased deployment of EasySell v2.1 at its top-60 performing First Choice Travel Shops as well as at their 38 First Choice Holiday Hypermarkets and national call centre in Salford, Manchester, starting in August 2006. Later phases will result in EasySell v2.1 being rolled-out across First Choice’s entire 300+ retail travel network.

The latest browser-based version of EasySell v2.1 incorporates a range of new features including a search facility across over 70 tour operator brands, up to 18 months in advance, and Comtec’s ViewdataPlus component offering digital brochure content integrated with traditional viewdata-based services.

Commenting, Helen Deegan, Head of Commercial, First Choice said “First Choice has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Comtec having been the first major UK travel agent to deploy EasySell six years ago. We are now pleased to be upgrading to EasySell v2.1 which our pilot phase has convinced us will enable our retail outlets to further improve staff productivity and enhance the service offered to customers.”

Another key aspect of the upgrade for First Choice will be migrating the system platform from a currently windows-based to a new fully browser-based service.

Richard Turner, Sales Director, at Comtec added “We’re very much looking forward to deploying EasySell v2.1 with First Choice over the next few months. We’re certain their retail outlets will derive enormous benefit from the new range of features which are designed to make selling leisure travel simpler, more personalised and highly cost-effective.”
