Cabo Verde Airlines in e-ticketing drive

Cape Verde’s Cabo Verde Airlines is making a $10 million
investment over ten years as it selects SITA’s Horizon portfolio to introduce
e-ticketing and e-commerce services.

The Horizon solution set for Cabo Verde will enable the phased introduction of
e-ticketing, online booking, ancillary online sales and other innovations, such as a
highly automated Revenue Integrity System and a Frequent Flyer Program, with a
specific objective of boosting revenues by 15% and achieving considerable annual
savings on sales and distribution costs.  The first phase of the project involves
the implementation of e-ticketing, which is the top priority for TACV for 2006.

“TACV has experienced considerable growth over the last few years. Cape Verde is
becoming an increasingly popular holiday destination and in 2005 we transported
591,800 passengers across domestic and international routes. We feel that the time
is right to invest in the complete automation of our passenger services and back
office functions in order to support this growth and cut costs. We expect to reach
the one million passenger mark by the end of 2009,” said Antonio Borges, Corporate
Planning and IT Director, TACV.

“We were looking for an integrated solution package from a single provider with a
specific objective to deploy e-ticketing by year end and SITA met all our criteria.
SITA recognizes that successful passenger services, the reduction of our cost base
and increasing yield are key to the development of our business, and Horizon will
deliver that for us. Having e-ticketing, including e-ticketing interline,
self-service and online booking facilities in place alone will help us reduce our
distribution costs by up to $5 per ticket,” added Frank Socha, Advisor to the
Senior Management of TACV, Airline Solutions.

“TACV’s adoption of SITA’s Horizon portfolio further reiterates that more and
more airlines are looking for, and understanding, the need for straightforward
e-solutions that simplify the distribution process, enable passenger self-service
and enhance yield and revenue management across all sales channels and customer
touch points,’” stated Jamal El-Hoss Regional Sales Vice President - SITA
Middle East, Africa, South & Central Asia.

Cabo Verde Airlines is the latest carrier to adopt the Horizon solution to support
business growth this year. Others include Royal Jordanian in the Middle East,
Carpatair in Eastern Europe, Sky Airline in Latin America and Hong Kong in Asia.
