Greece looks to air flight links with China

Greece was at the final stages of talks with Air China to reach agreement on beginning scheduled flights between Beijing and Athens, Greek Tourism Minister Fani Palli-Petralia said on Thursday. Addressing an Economist conference in Athens, the Greek minister said that Air China’s executives were expected to visit Athens by the end of August to discuss details of the agreement, while she stressed that talks were also underway with low fare airlines, according to the Athens News Agency.

Mrs Palli-Petralia said the accession of Romania and Bulgaria in the EU was an historic development changing the map in the Balkans and established stability, peace, progress and growth. She noted that Greece, Bulgaria and Romania could jointly develop a series of actions aimed to boost tourism in the region.
