Air New Zealand has been fined NZ$600,000 by the country’s Commerce Commission over advertising that misled the public on the price of its airfares, according to Dow Jones news wire. The commission said the fine related to 112 charges of misleading advertising between 2001 and 2003.

Commission General Manager Geoff Thorn said the size of the fine “signals the serious consequences to all businesses that mislead through their advertising.”
