Hyatt conducts eighth annual blood drive

Reflecting its commitment to community outreach and volunteer efforts, Hyatt’s 124 properties in the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean will sponsor its eighth annual blood drive, Drive for Life, between June 19th and July 14th. “Giving back to the communities in which we live in and operate is a Hyatt legacy,” said Chuck Floyd, chief operating officer and executive vice president of Hyatt Hotels Corp.

“Drive for Life is a local city effort of which we are extremely proud.”

Hyatt properties work with local blood banks to collect blood from employees and guests. The donated blood is distributed among various organizations, including the military, blood centers, and more than 5,000 hospitals nationwide. Last year, Hyatt properties collected over 5,000 pints of blood from its participants. Drive for Life is an important facet of Hyatt’s F.O.R.C.E. initiative; Hyatt’s Family of Responsible and Caring Employees, which gives its employees an opportunity to participate in volunteer programs on paid company time. Since this initiative was launched in 1990, Hyatt employees have volunteered more than 900,000 hours to over 350 community organizations across the United States.
