G2 SwitchWorks appoints David Siegel

G2 SwitchWorks, the leading provider of low cost travel distribution services, announced today that David Siegel, 44, and Dave Menzel, 44, have joined the company’s board of directors with David Siegel serving as Chairman.The appointments take effect immediately.

A seasoned airline and travel industry executive, Siegel is chairman and CEO of Gate Gourmet, the world’s largest independent airline catering company based in Zurich Switzerland. Prior to joining Gate Gourmet in June 2004, Siegel was president and CEO of US Airways Group, Inc. and also served as chairman and CEO of Avis Rent-a-Car.

An expert in executive leadership at technology start-ups, Menzel started with G2 SwitchWorks in May 2005 as Chief Financial Officer and quickly expanded his role to Chief Operating Officer. Prior to G2, Menzel was Chief Executive Officer of Yesmail, Inc. where he led the company through its IPO and $725 million sale to CMGI, an integrated marketing services company.

Siegel also spent time in various senior management roles at Continental Airlines, Inc., including president of its Continental Express subsidiary. Siegel earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science in applied mathematics-economics from Brown University.

Menzel also served as finance executive for Campbell Software where he managed the company’s sale to SAP America, and began his career with Arthur Andersen in the Audit and Financial Consulting Division. Menzel earned his Master of Accountancy & Bachelor of Science from Florida State University.
