DTCM to woo Saudi tourists

The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) in its efforts to tap key markets in the Middle East and attract a greater number of tourists from AGCC countries recently participated at the Jeddah International Travel Mart from April 12-14. The exhibition held under the patronage of the Supreme Commission for Tourism in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was aimed at bringing together travel and tourism professionals, representatives of airlines, hospitality industry from different parts of the world to brainstorm on global trends in the travel and tourism industry.

The Dubai stand at the Jeddah International Travel Mart was a big success with a large number of trade visitors and tourists visiting the stand.

Mr. Sultan bin Salman bin Adel Aziz Al Saud, Secretary General of the Supreme Commission for tourism in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia inaugurated the exhibition and made a special visit to the Dubai stand.

Mr. Aly Al Zyat, Director, Dubai Representative Office in Saudi Arabia, DTCM presented a memento to Mr. Sultan bin Salman bin Adel Aziz Al Saud and thanked him for his support to the DTCM.

More than 750 trade visitors and tourists visited the Dubai stand, many of whom were appreciative about the efforts made by the DTCM to popularize Dubai’s tourist attractions in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia represents a crucial market for the DTCM with the year 2005 showing an increase of 33 per cent in the number of Saudi hotel guests to Dubai.
