Etihad exhibits flight innovations at ATM

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, will showcase several of its new innovative products and destinations at next month’s Arabian Travel Market. More than 10,000 visitors will attend the 2006 ATM, which takes place at Dubai’s World Trade Centre between 2 - 5 May.

The Etihad stand will have a unique theme to reflect the Abu Dhabi-based airline’s new destinations of Paris and New York.

Etihad will also display the new fully-flat, Pearl Zone Business Bed, in addition to the Wi-Fi TV and AVOD (audio and video on demand) capabilities on its new fleet of aircraft.

Etihad, twice awarded the title of the world’s leading new airline, is experiencing a period of tremendous growth which has seen the addition of 14 new international destinations, and the arrival of five of its new fleet of 29 Airbus and Boeing aircraft, in the last 12 months.

Etihad has invested a great deal of time and effort into our new products, and these will be on display for the travel industry to see,’ continued HH Dr. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saif Al Nahyan, chairman at Etihad Airways.

This rapid network expansion is set to continue in 2006, with new services to Casablanca, Dhaka, Doha, Jeddah and Kuwait to be launched, along with New York and Paris.

Senior members of Etihad management will attend the ATM, including H.H. Dr. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saif Al Nahyan, Chairman of Etihad Airways and Robert Strodel, CEO of Etihad Airways.

Etihad executives and staff will be at the stand to field visitors’ questions on the airline’s products and services, including its newly opened routes to Brussels, Islamabad, Jakarta, Johannesburg, Lahore, Manchester, Manila, Muscat, Peshawar and Toronto.

‘Everyone at Etihad is extremely proud of the new products and services we are offering. Our new fleet are amongst the most technologically advanced aircraft in the world, and visitors to the ATM have the opportunity to sample some of these outstanding new innovations. This includes the high-speed wireless internet access through all zones on the new Boeing 777-300ER and A330-200,’ concluded HH Dr. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saif Al Nahyan.

Pearl and Coral Zone Guests on the Boeing 777-300ER are able to send and receive email, including those with large attachments using the advanced ‘Connexions by Boeing’ system. Guests can also browse the internet in exactly the same way they would at home, and also securely access company intranet and business applications.

Etihad Holidays will showcase its newly launched 2006-2007 brochure at the ATM. The brochure builds on Etihad Holidays’ comprehensive and personalised service, offering bespoke packages to the world’s leading holiday destinations.

Etihad Crystal Cargo will also announce its latest achievements and its new services planned for the year ahead.

Etihad Airways will be exhibiting at stand number 6,250, in hall 6, Dubai World Trade Centre at the 2006 ATM.
