Sabre opens Mid East HQ in Bahrain

Sabre Travel Network is opening its new Middle East headquarters in Bahrain. The offices in Manama’s National Bank of Bahrain Tower will house Sabre Travel Network Middle East Headquarters. Sabre Holdings’s other business units, including Sabre Airline Solutions, the airline industry’s foremost provider of operational and decision-support technology, will also operate from this office.

The official ceremony took place in the presence of Captain Abdulrahman Mohamed Al Gaoud, Bahrain’s undersecretary for civil aviation affairs, Ministry of Transportation. The ceremony was attended by representatives of Sabre and Gulf Air and more than 150 guests, including key customers such as World Travel Service. It was followed by a reception held at La Fontaine Centre of Contemporary Art in Manama.

“This move comes at a key point in our Middle East regional growth plan, an area where Sabre continues to be the leading GDS,”

said Daniel Naoumovitch, chief executive officer of Sabre Travel Network Middle East. ‘If our positive results from the first quarter of the year are anything to go by, Sabre’s 2006 prospects in the region are extremely good.’

Sabre announced recently that it has increased its sales and customer service workforce throughout the Middle East region, as part of the company’s efforts to enhance its local resources and meet the specific demands of the region’s travel suppliers and travel agencies.
