Macdonald Berystede appoints spa manager

Lindsay Edwards is being appointed as Leisure Club Manager for the luxury new VITAL Health and Beauty Spa at the refurbished Macdonald Berystede Hotel, near Ascot.

Previously employed by LA Fitness, Lindsay has spent the past year working as deputy manager at various health clubs around the UK.  She was also involved with the opening of the Amida Group’s Hampton Club as fitness manager in 2004 and worked for the Club Group at Knowle Hill, near Marlow for six years.

Lindsay will be responsible for overseeing all departments at the Berystede’s new contemporary style spa including the gym, 18-metre pool, thermal and beauty suites and reception and relaxation areas. Initially she will be working with a team of fifteen but this is expected to increase as membership numbers grow.

The thermal suite will offer a variety of therapies including an infrared sauna, rock sauna, aromatic steam room, salt infusion, cold room and sensation shower. Fitness equipment in the 150-square metre Technogym will provide finely tuned cardiovascular and strength training; members will be given their own cordless ‘key’ which contains details of their personal training programme and activates the equipment automatically.  And in the Beauty Suite, six softly lit treatment rooms will be used by experienced therapists offering a range of top-to-toe therapies for men and women using Decleor and Carita products from Paris.

The spa is part of the hotel’s £11 million pound redevelopment which also includes a new rooftop terrace for the Hyperion restaurant for dining al fresco, a function suite for up to 350 guests, upgraded bedrooms and a complete refurbishment of all lounge and bar areas.
