New CEO for BWIA Airways

The board of directors of BWIA West Indies Airways Limited has appointed Peter Davies as the new Chief Executive Officer.He replaces Nelson Tom Yew, the interim CEO, who has accepted an appointment as an advisor to the Board until 30th October 2006.

Davies has over 30 years operational experience in the airline and transport industry throughout Europe, Australia and the United States and is also a qualified pilot. 

Until recently he was CEO at SN Brussels Airlines, previously known as Sabena, the state owned national carrier of Belgium.

Whilst at SN Brussels Davies engineered the rapid recovery of the airline and secured profitability in three consecutive years of its four year history.

Before joining SN Brussels Davies spent 14 years at DHL, originally as Managing Director of the UK operations, progressing to Regional Director for Europe, before taking up his final post as Chief Operating Officer responsible for the Americas, including the Caribbean.
