Beckenbauer Visits Emirates at ITB

14th Mar 2005

German football legend Franz Beckenbauer was
among the many high-profile visitors to the ITB tourism fair in Berlin on
Saturday - one of the word’s biggest travel trade exhibitions. Beckenbauer,
who is Emirates’ Global Ambassador for Sports and Social Activities, was in
Berlin to meet with Emirates executives to discuss the airline’s partnership
of the 2006 FIFA World Cup. Emirates sponsorship of the 2006 FIFA World Cup
is a world-first for an airline. While at the show, Beckenbauer took the
opportunity to try out the mini suite which Emirates offers on its A340-500
flights from Dubai to Australia and the USA. Beckenbauer, pictured here with
Emirates cabin crew Mine Ezzine, described the facility as “Wunderbar”.
