Fredric A. "Ric" Nicholson Appointed at The Adolphus

Fredric A. “Ric” Nicholson has been named director of sales and marketing for The Adolphus, effective immediately.Ê He will be responsible for all aspects of room sales, including marketing and advertising strategies for the property.Ê Mr. Nicholson will oversee the hotel’s six sales managers and the production of key business segments.Ê The appointment was announced by Tom E. Garcia, managing director of The Adolphus.
“Ric brings to The Adolphus a depth of experience perfectly tailored to the demands of one of America’s landmark luxury hotels,” said Mr. Garcia.Ê “His collaborative management style and proven leadership qualities will strengthen our sales force and enhance our presence in the Dallas market,” added Garcia.

Ric Nicholson joins The Adolphus from The Westin Seattle, where he was director of group sales for the 891-room downtown convention hotel.Ê His innovative sales strategies and web-based marketing ideas drove sales growth in a highly competitive market.Ê Mr. Nicholson’s hospitality career has spanned two decades and included executive posts with Starwood, Sheraton, Hyatt, and Harrah’s.

A Hotel & Restaurant Management graduate of San Francisco City College, Mr. Nicholson is active in a number of professional organizations.

Built by beer baron Adolphus Busch in 1912, The Adolphus has been a Dallas landmark for over 90 years.Ê The 429-room hotel is a famed venue for social events and business affairs.Ê It is also home to The French Room restaurant and plentiful meeting and event space, classic accommodations and the legendary afternoon tea in the lobby living room.Ê The Adolphus is a place where commerce reigns, and the social elite entertain.
