CMEx set for St. Lucia

Journalists, editors and electronic media representatives from across the Caribbean, South America, the United States and Britain are getting set to attend the Caribbean Media Exchange on Sustainable Tourism (CMEx) to be held June 24-28, 2004 in Rodney Bay Village, St. Lucia.
The sixth edition of the conference will examine how the major players can collaborate in “Exploring Tourism: Widening the Boundaries of Caribbean Sustainability.”

“The response for St. Lucia has been absolutely overwhelming,” reports Counterpart International president Lelei LeLaulu. “My only regret is that with the sheer volume of applicants this year, we have had to place so many accomplished journalists on the waiting list for fully paid fellowships.”

However, he confirmed all print, radio and television stories submitted during the application process will qualify for the Media Awards component of the three-day conference. He also welcomed other journalists and tourism industry officials to participate at deeply discounted rates.
