Caribbean Escapes expands portfolio

Caribbean Escapes Cooperative Marketing, Inc., the newest concept in marketing luxury travel to the Caribbean, announces the acceptance of three, award-winning, luxury resorts into the Caribbean Escapes Collection: The Reefs in Bermuda; Hotel Carl Gustaf on St. Barth’s and Spice Island Beach Resort in Grenada.
Since the launch of the program at the World Travel Market in London on Nov 11, 2003, the Caribbean Escapes Collection has received a phenomenal response from the industry and hoteliers across the Caribbean. More than 70 properties, all of which have been recognised by the industry for their excellence in offering an experience for the upscale traveler, have already indicated their participation in the 2004 Caribbean Escapes Collection, a discerning collection of the most outstanding properties in the in the Caribbean. The selection process for the collection will be closing shortly. The Reefs in Southampton, Bermuda has recently been accepted into the Caribbean Escapes Collection. Recognised in 2002 by Travel + Leisure magazine as the number #1 best resort in all the Caribbean, Bahamas and Bermuda, The Reefs now joins a group of select hotels, recognised as the most luxurious hotels in the Caribbean.“Being accepted into The Caribbean Escapes Collection is another wonderful distinction for The Reefs,” said Neal Stephens, General Manager. “Being a part of this prestigious group of luxury hotels further affirms The Reefs’ status as one of the premiere resorts in the Caribbean,” he added.Additionally, the Hotel Carl Gustaf on St. Barth’s joins the Caribbean Escapes Collection, The resort earned recognition by Conde Nast Traveler magazine in the publication’s annual Readers’ Choice Awards in 2003. It was voted the number one resort in the Caribbean/Atlantic Hotel category.Another award-winning resort, Spice Island Beach Resort in Grenada, also joins the prestigious ranks in the Caribbean Escapes Collection.
