John F. Davis III Honored by HEDNA

The Hotel Electronic Distribution Network Association (HEDNA) presented John F. Davis III
of Pegasus Solutions
with the HEDNA President’s Award of Excellence at its annual conference today in Miami.  Davis, who launched Pegasus in 1989, is now chairman, president and CEO of the company.  Dallas-based Pegasus Solutions, Inc. is a leading worldwide provider of hotel reservations-related services and technology.

HEDNA honored Davis for his contributions to the field of hotel electronic distribution.  Under Davis’ leadership, Pegasus developed and enhanced technology that connects hotels around the world with travel agent workstations and, in recent years, the Internet.  Pegasus is the largest provider of hotel connectivity services in the world, providing electronic distribution services to more than 50,000 hotels on six continents.

“John Davis is a recognized visionary in the hotel industry, and the services refined under his stewardship touch hoteliers, travel agencies and travel Web sites every day,” said Audrey Sieh, president of HEDNA.  “We are pleased to present this award to an executive who so strongly supports our mission to increase hotel industry revenues and profitability from electronic distribution channels.”

Davis said:  “I’m truly honored to be given this award by HEDNA.  This award serves as testament to the high quality of applications and services developed and maintained by the Pegasus team around the world.  They are the ones who’ve earned this award through their commitment to creating applications that save time and money while providing services that expand the reach of hotels to multiple distribution outlets.”

HEDNA will present a contribution of $1,000 in the name of John Davis to The Family Place, a Dallas-based charity that helps families escape from domestic violence.
