With locations acquired in Pennsylvania, Missouri, Colorado and North Carolina, adding four more award-winning Day Spas to its growing portfolio.

In its mission to become the leading day spa company in the U.S., Stonewater has recently added four award-winning locations to its growing collection of day spas. With these four additions, the Stonewater portfolio currently stands at 17 locations making it one of the leading spa companies in America.

December was a busy month for Stonewater which, most recently, acquired Charles Grayson European Spa & Salon a 7,500 sq-ft facility, situated in the heart of Charlotte, N.C.‘s exclusive shopping area on Dec 17. This spa caters to the residents of the city of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County, North Carolina’s most urban region.

A week prior, Stonewater purchased Essentiels Spa located in Boulder, Colo. Despite its location close to the Rocky Mountains, Essentiels is a 6,925 sq-ft cottage-like seaside retreat, which captures the feeling of Cape Cod and the French coastline. Essentiels not only provides traditional body treatments, manicures, pedicures and facials, but also laser hair removal, Endermology, Thalassotherapy and micro peels. Essentiels has been featured in many magazines, in addition to being the most consistently named ‘Top Spa’ in Boulder’s regional press.

Earlier in December, Stonewater acquired on Antoinette Day Spa & Salon, an 8,500 sq-ft spa and salon located in a beautifully restored, elegant Victorian house approximately 25 miles from Philadelphia in historic Chester County, Pa. Philadelphia Magazine voted Antoinette Day Spa as giving the best facial in the area, and Salon Today magazine recognised Antoinette as one of the top 200 salons in the country.

Stonewater also purchased The Green Door Spa, an impressive 11,000 sq-ft spa and salon, located in Frontenac, Mo., approximately 12 miles outside of St. Louis. The Green Door Spa caters to residents of St. Louis County, the largest in Missouri with the highest per capita income in the state, and has been featured in the St. Louis Magazine as one of the top spas in the region.

Stonewater, based in New Haven, Conn. and founded in 2001, is focused on acquiring some of America’s best spas and instilling Stonewater elements creating a new spa brand name.
The company emerged from Sage Management and Development Group, a successful consulting firm established in 1997 by Acunzo. Sage began acquiring spas in the Northeast in 1999 and owned three locations in Connecticut and Massachusetts. In August 2001, Acunzo implemented a corporate initiative to further expand the acquisition strategy into a national day spa industry endeavor. Sage was renamed Stonewater, the new brand name developed for national expansion.
