Hockley Valley Resort & Verdi Hospitality Centre, both proudly owned and operated by the Adamo family, held their 7th Annual Summer Charity Golf & Spa Celebration on Tuesday, July 16th.
Over 200 people attended the event the ever-popular golf and spa celebration at Hockley Valley Resort, and were treated to the exceptional hospitality that guests have come to except from the Resort. At the end of the day, Hockley Valley Resort and Verdi Hospitality Centre were able to donate $20,000 to two very worthwhile charities.
Caritas, one of the beneficiaries of the generosity of our patrons, is a substance abuse centre that helps individuals find new responsible roles within society. This substance abuse recovery centre offers a variety of programs and experiences, specifically tailored to individual needs, including an outreach program that operates through the Caritas Family Association.
The other beneficiary of this charity event is the Ontario Track 3 Ski Association. For thirty years they have provided disabled children and youth with the opportunity to improve their self-confidence and self-esteem through skiing. The Ontario Track 3 Ski Association provides specially adapted ski equipment, trained volunteer instructors and staff, to give disabled children and youth the pleasure of winter wonderland activities.
Participants in the event were treated to a remarkable day of hospitality from the moment they entered the Resort. Following breakfast, patrons headed out to the championship 18-hole Scottish links course, or up to the spectacular European Spa. During the day the award-winning culinary team from Hockley Valley Resort provided guests with delectable delicacies for lunch, and a spectacular dinner in Horizons Dining Room.
Robert Cass, Vice-President & General Manager of Hockley Valley Resort credits the exceptional commitment of all involved for making the day a success. “Consistent with our team beliefs, it is the team as a whole that creates our success. From all the participants in this Summer Celebration, to hole sponsors, to those who donated prizes, and of course, our spectacular team of hospitality professionals at Hockley Valley Resort; the success of the day was a tribute to everyone involved”.
“At the end of the day we are extremely proud that our team was able to raise $ 20,000 to donate to our worthwhile charities. Caritas, a substance abuse centre, and Ontario Track 3 Association, a ski support system for handicap persons, both gratefully received a cheque for $ 10,000 each”.
