Olympic Holidays Signs With Anite

Olympic Holidays the leading specialist to Greece and Cyprus is set to deliver online bookings following a major deal to switch technology supplier to leading travel industry e-commerce pioneer Anite Travel Systems. The deal also extends to their long haul product Odyssey Holidays.
Under the five-year deal, Olympic Holidays and Odyssey Holidays are to take Anite`s market leading web-enabled tour operator reservation system, using Anite`s Pay as you Pax service. This will see Anite providing Olympic and Odyssey with a complete ASP (Application Service Provider) facility, with the operator`s systems housed at Anite`s managed service data centre in Slough.
In addition to the reservations system, Olympic and Odyssey are taking Anite`s management reporting system MIS, Faresearch and Content Management applications. The Content Management system will store the Group`s entire brochure content in one single database repository to maximise sales distribution through new and existing channels.
Olympic is planning a phased implementation of the new technology, which will see all bookings migrated to Anite systems in time for the launch of its summer 2002 programme.
Commented Olympic Holidays` director David Wilson: “The reason we have chosen to switch to Anite is because it is the right technology partner for the next stage of our development.
“Anite`s systems allow us to concentrate on what we do best - selling holidays - confident in the knowledge that our technology is secured for the future. By outsourcing to Anite`s managed services operation, we`re securing a scalable infrastructure to support our rapid expansion plans.”
Said Anite Travel Systems` director of marketing Howard Frost: “The Olympic deal is another example of how Pay as you Pax is enabling operators to get online more quickly. With Pay as you Pax they can benefit from advanced hardware, software upgrades, year-round maintenance and help desk support without a major upfront capital investment.
“Pay as you Pax is an example of our commitment to enabling travel providers to cope with issues such as reduced margins and rapidly changing technology and distribution opportunities. Through Pay as you Pax, Anite is helping the travel industry secure the best technology on the most convenient terms.”
Anite`s Pay as you Pax pricing model means travel providers only pay for each passenger booked and not for hardware, products or support. Under the unique service Anite customers can enjoy bookings from as little as £1 a passenger.
