Travelocity and MasterCard International have announced a marketing alliance making MasterCard the preferred payment brand for Travelocity.
To celebrate the alliance, Travelocity and MasterCard have jointly launched the Travelocity/MasterCard Getaways Sweepstakes. Cardholders who make a MasterCard credit card purchase on Travelocity until March 31, 2001 will be automatically entered into the sweepstakes. A total of five Grand Prize vacations will be awarded and each Grand Prize winner can choose one of the following unique and exciting dream vacation packages: Europe/UK, Hawaii, the Caribbean or a Caribbean Cruise.
In addition to being the preferred payment card, MasterCard is promoting Travelocity within a travel-related portion of its Web site, and Travelocity is featuring links and editorial content promoting MasterCard. Furthermore, Travelocity and MasterCard are supporting the launch of a co-branded credit card, the Travelocity World MasterCard. The two companies also are collaborating on a series of promotions designed to encourage online consumers to use their MasterCard credit cards when shopping for products or services on Travelocity.
