Travelprice.com and Bell Canada bring travel management online

Canadian travel Web site Travelprice.com and Bell Canada have launched a new travel management service, Travelprice Corporate, that combines the convenience of the Web with personalized service.
In addition to co-developing the Web-based travel management tool, as part of the deal Travelprice.com is the exclusive travel provider on BellZinc.ca a new e-commerce and informational portal offered to businesses by Bell Canada.
Travelprice Corporate manages business travel operations for individual companies by automating the processes and preferences of business travelers for air, car and hotel reservations according to company policies. It is offered in both English and French and is available via Travelprice.com and through the BellZinc.ca portal.
The new service allows Canadian businesses to automate many aspects of travel management including managing and tracking reservations for frequent trips. Flight reservation can be automated based on class of service and personal preferences; car rentals can be automated according to category, pick up and drop off locations; and hotel reservations can be automated according to the hotel chain, the location, and the type of room. It can also track and manage rewards programs with airlines, car rental companies and hotel chains.
To use the service, the business must first register an application with Travelprice.com. A Travelprice.com business advisor will contact the travel manager to define the company’s travel policies and restrictions. The employees are classified into three groups: the supervisors, who give the green light to all traveling allowance orders; the arrangers, who put the traveling allowance purchases through; and the travelers.
“We are very glad to complement and diversify Travelprice.com`s offer by addressing the important business travel sector,” says Bernard Stawarz, general manager of Travelprice.com. “On-line business trip management is the perfect tool for businesses and and Travelprice Corporate is the only Web site in North America that allows customers to access such complete data on business travel.”
Travelprice believes the future of online travel lies in the business sector and has already successfully attracted the business travel market. Travelprice estimates about 80% of flight requests it processes is for business. It also estimates that about 75% of its packages are booked business travel while only 25% of the travel packages booked are for leisure.
Travelprice is based in Paris and has an operations office in Montreal, which runs its Canadian site. Travelprice.com currently has 30 staff members and expects to add 50 new employees by the end of the years. Backed by the Galileo GDS, Travelprice.ca offers an online flight booking system that offers only available flights for the selected itinerary offering both published and negotiated fares. It offers both French and English versions of its Web site and receives about 50,000 visitors per week, with the majority of activity on the French site.
