Logibro and Viator Announce Alliance to Enhance Online Vacation Travel Shopping

Logibro Inc., a leading supplier of advanced enterprise and e-commerce solutions for the leisure travel industry, and Viator Inc., a global provider of travel destination content, technology and distribution services, have announced a broad alliance to integrate their technologies.
The agreement will enable Logibro customer`s packaged tour products to be distributed through Viator`s expanding distribution channel.
Logibro vacation suppliers will benefit from the alliance by being able to reach more travelers. Viator partners - which include travel agents, global distributors and online travel services - will benefit by being able to offer even more travel options to their customers through one easy link.
Viator itself has developed a database of thousands of destination activities in more than 25 countries, focusing on `the things you do when you get there.` Viator customers include travel industry leaders such as Sabre, Worldspan, Expedia, Rosenbluth, and OneTravel.com. By partnering with Logibro, Viator is able to expand its offering to include more packaged tours. The end result for consumers is an increase in travel activity choices.
Speaking on the agreement, Viator CEO Rod Cuthbert said that the alliance makes perfect sense for both parties and their customers. “Whether they are on-line or off-line, our clients appreciate being able to access a single source for a wide range of products,” Cuthbert said. “Viator partners already have access to our database of bookable destination products. The Logibro agreement opens up a whole new spectrum of packaged tours from industry-leading brands. Having access to that through one interface is a win for everyone involved.”
Logibro CEO Richard Brossoit described the alliance as recognition that the industry is ready to embrace solutions that offer end-to-end functionality and a wide range of leisure travel products. “Combining our web booking engine with Viator`s deep content capability will result in a highly effective solution for consumers” said Brossoit.
Consumers visiting a Viator partner web site will have the option of browsing a range of packaged tours and the ability to perform price and availability checks. Bookings and confirmations will be handled on-line in real-time. Development of the interface between the two systems is underway, with a trial scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2001.
