British tourist mauled by cheetah

A British tourist was injured by a cheetah in captivity when she tried to protect a little girl.

Violet D’Mello had been on the Kragga Kamma Game Park in Port Elizabeth, South Africa when the incident occurred.

She had entered the enclosure for a photo when the cheetah tried to attack the child. Violet said she had survived by playing dead, according to reports.
