AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:  AAI), today teamed up with the Orlando Magic today to launch a one-of-a-kind, custom-painted Boeing 717 in Magic colors. The plane, dubbed Magic 1, will operate across the company’s network of more than 60 destinations.

This is the fourth in a special series of custom-painted AirTran Airways aircraft and the first outside of professional football. In October and November, AirTran unveiled Falcons 1 in Atlanta, Ravens 1 in Baltimore and Colts 1 in Indianapolis to honor the airline’s partnerships with these professional football clubs.

Earlier this fall, AirTran Airways became the official airline of the Orlando Magic and joined the team as “Champions of the Community” partners.
