AGA welcomes lifting of pre-departure Covid testing
The American Gaming Association has welcomed the White House’s decision to lift the COVID-19 testing requirement for international air travellers to the United States, saying the move puts the United States on equal footing with other countries and will provide a major boost to the nation’s travel and hospitality industries.
Travel sector to create six million U.S. jobs
The WTTC calls for immediate action by the U.S. to open borders to international travellers to enable a return to pre-pandemic levels. The tourism body also predicts the travel sector can contribute over 9% to U.S. GDP and 6 million new jobs over the next decade with the support of the new U.S. National Travel and Tourism Strategy.
Ten killed in Texas as train collides with vehicle
Ten people have been confirmed dead following a collision between a train and a bus carrying prisoners in Texas. The vehicle is believed to have lost control on an icy stretch of road before sliding down an embankment and hitting the train.
New personality for Santa Cruz tourism
Following a year of planning, the Santa Cruz County Conference & Visitors Council is unveiling a fresh new logo and brand to elevate the exposure of California’s favourite beachside destination. “Santa Cruz” is presented in a gradated shade of orange, with a teal-coloured sea star between the words accompanied by the tagline “Let’s Cruz”.
