Trip.com Group has released its 2021 annual Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, highlighting stronger, more resilient sustainability practices across the business over the past year.
The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi has signed a partnership with Trip.com, the global travel service provider, in an online ceremony at Arabian Travel Market. The joint venture will encourage and entice visitors worldwide to visit Abu Dhabi, promoting the UAE capital as a top-tier travel destination in 13 markets across Asia and Europe.
The China-based company is hoping to bring together the industry to revitalise travel with a range of new safety standards, flexibility guarantees and promotions.
Trip.com will have access to Hotelbeds’ Beyond the Bed portfolio of more than 18,000 activities in 690 destinations, 25,000 transfer routes in 1,100 destinations as well as theme-park attractions and entrance tickets for events all over the world.
For the three months to March 31st, the China-based travel operator recorded a net loss of 5.4 billion yuan ($754 million), down from a net income of 4.6 billion yuan in the same period last year.
