China Airlines expands codeshare deal with Japan Airlines
China Airlines and Japan Airlines today signed a memorandum of understanding to expand their strategic cooperation on cargo and passenger transportation.
Iberia joins oneworld partners in Japanese joint business
Today Iberia will join Japan Airlines, British Airways and Finnair in their joint business between Europe and Japan. The joint business means that the four airlines will share revenue and cooperate on scheduling and pricing between Japan and Europe, providing customers with more flexible routing options and an attractive range of fares.
Iberia expands joint operations with Japan Airlines
In preparation for expanding the joint business on flights between Europe and Japan to include Iberia, the Spanish airline and Japan Airlines have today announced the start of codeshare arrangements on the routes operated by Iberia between Madrid and Tokyo (Narita). The two airlines will also offer joint fares on applicable routes from October 18th.
Iberia gains Japanese anti-trust immunity alongside oneworld partners
Japan’s ministry of land, infrastructure, transport and tourism has granted an extension of the anti-trust immunity to include Iberia in the joint business between Japan Airlines, British Airways and Finnair. The decision will allow the four airlines to cooperate commercially on flights between Europe and Japan. Iberia is expected to join the existing joint business between the other three airlines as from October 18th, 2016.
Japan Airlines to serve Halal certified meals on all routes
Japan Airlines has revealed it will provide Halal certified Muslim meals on all outbound international flights from Japan. JAL has been serving Muslim meal as a special meal for Muslim customers. Recently the airline has received Halal Certification from Japan Islamic Trust, for the whole processing of its Muslim meal menus aboard all international flights departing from Japan.
Japan Airlines and Alaska Airlines sign Pacific Northwest codeshare deal
Japan Airlines and Alaska Airlines have announced plans to enter into a codeshare agreement and a frequent flier partnership, which will provide customers with an enhanced network and more mileage earning opportunities between Japan and the US Pacific Northwest. With Alaska Airlines’ extensive operations across California, Oregon, Idaho and Washington, JAL customers will have more flight options and access to new cities including Seattle and Portland.
Japan Airlines to boost frequency on Moscow routes as part of service overhaul
JAL Group has announced its flight frequency and fleet plans on both international and domestic routes for the year ending March 2017. In regards to the airline’s international network, JAL will continue to expand the availability of aircraft featuring well-received JAL SKY SUITE configured aircraft, under the theme of raising the notches one class above all cabin services.
Japan Airlines launches English mobile site
Japan Airlines has launched mobile site in English for domestic services, providing English-speaking customers with more convenience. The app offers access to domestic flight booking and purchases, as well as the view reservation function which can be seen on the JAL website.
Japan Airlines to serve Champagne Salon in First Class
Japan Airlines will be serving Champagne Salon 2004 in First Class on all international routes from November. The move comes in advance of Champagne Salon’s own global distribution planned to start from next spring. Japan Airlines has been offering Champagne Salon to its First Class customers since December 2007, and JAL is the only airline in the world to be serving the legendary champagne in the skies.
Kyoto welcomes increase in transatlantic flights
The Kyoto Convention & Visitors Bureau has welcomed the announcement of a new international flights between Kyoto and the US and Canada. Japan Airlines recently announced its expansion plans include the addition of a non-stop daily flight between Los Angeles and Kansai International Airport, which will start in March 2015.
Japan Airlines acquires Hokkaido Air System as subsidiary
Hokkaido Air System has become a subsidiary of Japan Airlines after the larger Japanese carrier completed a qualifying transaction to hold up to 51.2 per cent of the shares in HAC. The HAC network includes flights to and from remote islands such as Sapporo (Okadama) on what is known as the Rishiri route and Hakodate and the Okushiri route.
JAL SKY SUITE 787 makes debut with new cabin interior
Japan Airlines (JAL) has been introducing JAL SKY SUITE 777 and JAL SKY SUITE 767 on select international routes. The airline has also revealed plans to introduce the Boeing 787-8 with new cabin interior called JAL SKY SUITE 787 on the Tokyo - Frankfurt route from December 2014, and on the Tokyo - New York route from January 2015.
