Emirates strengthens commercial leadership team with five senior appointments
Emirates has announced new appointments to its commercial leadership team as it ramps up its network, fleet and products for its next era of growth. The newly created roles, which include Senior Vice President, Network Passenger Sales Development and Vice President for Passenger Sales – Regional Clusters will support the airline’s regional growth and market expansion ambitions, drive integrated performance across markets and segments, as well as foster key corporate relationships to drive long-term passenger growth, build market share and revenue.
Emirates and AGEOP Ricerca lift spirits of young cancer patients
Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, has partnered with AGEOP Ricerca to bring moments of joy and comfort to young cancer patients in Bologna. As part of this initiative, 200 backpacks and activity books have been donated to children receiving treatment at the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Department of IRCCS Policlinico di Sant’Orsola. AGEOP Ricerca is an independent association that has supported children with cancer and their families since 1982. Young patients from Italy and abroad come to this centre to access therapies that are not readily available in their hometowns. This collaboration reinforces Emirates’ commitment to ‘connecting communities’ by building enduring relationships and making meaningful differences in the destinations it serves.
Emirates makes changes to safety rules for customer usage of power banks onboard
Using any kind of power bank is prohibited onboard Emirates’ flights, effective from 1 October 2025. A power bank is a portable, rechargeable device primarily designed to provide power to other electronic devices such smart phones, tablets, laptops and cameras. Emirates customers are still permitted to carry one power bank onboard with specific conditions listed below, but the power banks may not be used while in the aircraft cabin – neither to charge devices from the power bank, nor to be charged themselves using the aircrafts’ power source.
Emirates embarks on major partnership with FC Bayern Munich

The agreement positions Emirates as Platinum Partner of FC Bayern Munich’s first team from the 2025-26 season through to the 2031-32 season. Emirates to introduce third daily flight to Mauritius
In its commitment to supporting inbound tourism to the island nation of Mauritius, Emirates has announced it will introduce a third daily flight, starting on 1 December. The additional service, to be operated by a Boeing 777 aircraft as EK709/710, will complement existing schedules and support the travel plans of Emirates customers planning trips to the popular destination from across its network of more than 140 points.
Emirates reveals top 2025 summer getaways according to search data
As international travel reaches a fever pitch this summer, Emirates’ latest analysis of global booking data* and search patterns reveals where travellers are dreaming of and escaping to in July and August, with a shift towards new cultural experiences and off-the-beaten-track locales. Flight searches for summer travel have climbed 7% compared to last year, with France leading the charge, experiencing a remarkable 35% increase in outbound travel searches, followed by Ireland, Canada and Saudi Arabia. Germany and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are also seeing strong momentum, highlighting robust travel intent across key markets. In 2025, a few breakout stars have emerged as the top summer destinations for Emirates, and they’re largely concentrated in the Far East, Indian Ocean and Europe.
Emirates Inaugurates Japan’s First Dedicated Travel Store in Osaka
Emirates officially opened its Japan’s first dedicated travel store in Osaka yesterday, bringing its signature hospitality even closer to customers in the Kansai region. The opening ceremony was commemorated by Nabil Sultan, Executive Vice President – Passenger Sales and Country Management at Emirates, in the presence of Mr. Hirofumi Yoshimura, Governor of Osaka Prefecture and H.E. Shihab Alfaheem, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to Japan. They were joined by Emirates’ senior management as well as distinguished guests and media partners.
Emirates’ customers devour 60 million luxury chocolates in the sky
Celebrating World Chocolate Day on 7 July and the current trending connection between chocolate and the city of Dubai, Emirates notes a surge in customer consumption of the decadent delight - with 60 million pieces of luxury chocolate consumed onboard by customers in all classes in one year. This represents an increase of 2 million more chocolates than the year before.
Emirates boosts services to Barcelona with a third daily flight
Emirates has announced it will ramp up operations to Barcelona with the addition of a third daily flight starting from 26 October 2025. The added service will meet market demand and offer customers greater connectivity to/from the coastal city as well as access to popular destinations across Emirates’ network including Maldives, Bangkok, Bali, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Emirates and USTA Foundation present new tennis courts to the youth of East Palo Alto
Emirates and the United States Tennis Association Foundation (USTA Foundation) have joined forces to present brand new tennis courts to the community of East Palo Alto as part of Emirates’ “Force for Good” court rejuvenation initiative. The world’s largest international airline’s contribution of USD 500,000 supported the construction of one of the six new courts in the California city in addition to funding programmes by East Palo Alto Tennis and Tutoring (EPATT) to benefit youth in the community.
