British Airways is today announcing the second phase of changes to its winter 2012 Heathrow schedule. The acquisition of bmi, which prompted the reshuffle, will further benefit customers British Airways said earlier, with the carrier launching a new three-a-day service to Rotterdam in the Netherlands from December 9th.

British Airways has confirmed it will bring a bit of winter sunshine to London City Airport by extending its popular Palma and Ibiza flights to a year-round service. At present the British flag-carrier only offers the two Balearic Island destinations during the summer, but from October they will continue through the winter with two flights a week on Thursdays and Sundays.

The UK regions are set to benefit from British Airways’ new winter schedule, which begins on October 28th, 2012 thanks to purchase of bmi by parent company IAG. The airline will add extra frequencies and use bigger aircraft on flights to Scotland enabling it to offer nearly 27,000 more seats a week from London.
