British Airways launches luxury sale
British Airways has announced its forthcoming luxury sale which will offer holidaymakers massive savings on bookings made between June 7 and 14, 2012. The luxury flight and holiday sale offers savings of up to 60% in First and Business Class and on holiday packages based on various departures from July 21, 2012.
British Airways continues to integrate bmi routes
British Airways has begun to move the second tranche of bmi routes over to a BA code and flight number. This means that the bmi code and flight number on seven routes will be replaced with British Airways ones: i.e. the BD123 could become the BA345.

British Airways is serving up a feast of six new flights from London City Airport this summer with the first of the new services taking off to Mahon in Menorca. The addition of the new routes means a total of 23 destinations in the UK, Europe and the USA will be served by British Airways from London City Airport.

British Airways to offer Vegas flights from Gatwick
British Airways is launching another new high rolling route from Gatwick with the start of services to Las Vegas from October 29th this year. The three-times-a-week service will be operated by a three-cabin Boeing 777 offering a premium Club World cabin with fully flat beds.
International Airlines Group confirms bmi Regional sale
International Airlines Group has signed a binding agreement to sell bmi Regional to Sector Aviation Holdings for a total consideration of £8 million in cash. Also today, British Airways confirmed nine bmi destinations will change from a bmi (BD) to the BA code and flight number from May 23rd.

British Airways parent International Airlines Group (IAG) has completed the purchase of bmi from Lufthansa today. IAG revealed it will also be taking over bmibaby and bmi regional for an unspecified “substantial price reduction”, but it does nt plan to integrate these businesses into BA.
OFT halves BA fine for fuel surcharge scam
The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has ordered British Airways to pay £58.5 for a fuel surcharge scam it was involved in six years ago with Virgin Atlantic. The final sum is less than half the total that BA was originally asked to pay in August 2007.
British Airways A380 begins construction
Construction has begun on British Airways’ first super jumbo, the Airbus A380, due for delivery next year. British Airways has ordered 12 of the world’s roomiest aircraft, the A380, and 24 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, which means it is on track to be first airline in the world to have both new aircraft types in its fleet.
