Boeing has rolled out of its paint hangar the first 787-9 Dreamliner that will be delivered to Etihad Airways. The airplane is painted in the airline’s new ‘Facets of Abu Dhabi’ livery with colours reminiscent of the desert landscape, inspired by the culture, Islamic design and architecture motifs of the United Arab Emirates.

United Airlines has become the first North American carrier to take delivery of the Boeing 787-9, a stretched version of the Dreamliner that will allow the airline to accommodate more customers and further capitalise on its worldwide route network. The aircraft is the first of 26 of the newest member of the Dreamliner family United has on order.

The first Boeing 787 Dreamliner has joined the Royal Jordanian fleet, bearing the name of Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II. The assimilation is part of the airline’s strategic plan to modernise its fleet of long-haul aircraft.

Boeing and All Nippon Airways have finalised an order for 40 widebody airplanes as part of the airline’s strategic long-haul fleet renewal plan. The order, valued at approximately $13 billion at list prices, was originally announced as a commitment in March.

Thomson Airways has said all its long-haul flights will be scheduled exclusively on the 787 for the rest of the summer. As the first UK airline to only fly long-haul on the 787, Thomson Airways will give thousands of customers from across the UK the chance to experience the revolutionary new aircraft en-route to destinations like Mexico and Mauritius.

Boeing has confirmed that the new 787-9 Dreamliner will participate for the first time in displays at the Farnborough International Airshow. This year’s airshow marks the 40th anniversary of Boeing’s participation at Farnborough.
