The second Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner completed a successful four-hour, 18-minute first flight earlier. The airplane, known as ZB002, departed Paine Field in Everett, Washington, at 08:06 and landed at 12:24 local time at Seattle’s Boeing Field.

Boeing and Royal Brunei Airlines celebrated the delivery of the 787 Dreamliner – the first for the flag carrier of the Sultanate of Brunei and for south-east Asia. The airplane departed Paine Field in Everett Wednesday evening for a 6,540 nautical miles non-stop flight home to Bandar Seri Begawan International Airport in Brunei.

With its distinctive new Boeing livery, the newest member of the efficient 787 family completed a five-hour, 16-minute flight, taking off from Paine Field in Everett, Washington at 11:02 local time and landing at 16:18 at Seattle’s Boeing Field.

The delivery is the first of ten 787s for Hainan Airlines. “Today is a great day for Hainan Airlines as the most technologically advanced and fuel efficient airplane in the world joins our fleet,” said Mu Weigang, vice chairman of Hainan Airlines.
