Arke takes delivery of first Boeing Dreamliner
Boeing and Arke have celebrated the arrival of the airline’s first 787-8 Dreamliner at the Dutch carrier’s base at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam. The airplane departed Paine Field in Everett, Washington, on its delivery flight to the Netherlands.
Ethiopian Airlines receives latest Boeing Dreamliner
Ethiopian Airlines has announced the delivery of its seventh Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Ethiopian was the first in the world outside of Japan and the first in Africa to receive the super efficient 787 Dreamliner back in August 2012.
Air Canada receives first Dreamliner from Boeing
Boeing delivered the first 787 Dreamliner to Air Canada, the first airline in Canada to fly the Dreamliner. The airplane, the first of Air Canada’s 37 787s on order for delivery through 2019, departed Paine Field in Everett, Washington, on its delivery flight to Toronto.
Neos signs on for first Italian Dreamliners
Boeing and International Lease Finance Corporation have announced that two 787-8 Dreamliners will be leased by ILFC to the Italian carrier Neos. Based at Milan Malpensa Airport in northern Italy, Neos will become the country’s first 787 operator when it takes delivery of the airplane in 2018.
FAA review team finds Boeing 787 Dreamliner design safe
The United States Federal Aviation Administration has released the findings of a review team formed in January 2013 to review the design of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The joint team of FAA and Boeing technical experts found that the aircraft was soundly designed, met its intended safety level, and that the manufacturer and the FAA had effective processes in place to identify and correct issues that emerged before and after certification.
British Airways brings first class cabin to 787-900 Dreamliner
When the first of British Airways’ new Boeing 787-900 Dreamliners arrive next year, they will be boasting one significant addition - the airline’s next generation First cabin. Frank van der Post, British Airways’ managing director of brands and customer experience, said: “We’re investing billions in new aircraft, smarter cabins, elegant lounges and new technologies to make life more comfortable for our customers.”
British Airways takes Dreamliner into Chennai
British Airways has announced that Chennai is the latest route to benefit from its newly acquired fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. The new aircraft will begin flying to the Indian city from October 2014 and Chennai will also increase from six flights a week to a daily service from Heathrow.
Boeing backs Seahawks for Super Bowl Sunday
Boeing has revealed a 747-8 Freighter painted in the livery of the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks. The livery commemorates the team’s National Football Conference Championship and upcoming appearance in Super Bowl XLVIII this Sunday.
Boeing bumps up Dreamliner production
Boeing has rolled out the first Boeing 787 Dreamliner built at the rate of ten airplanes per month. The airplane, a 787-8 and the 155th Dreamliner built, will be delivered to International Lease Finance Corp. for operation by Aeromexico.
Norwegian places order for two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners
Norwegian has continued to expand its international operations by signing an agreement with MG Aviation to lease two new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. Both aircraft are scheduled to be in operation during the first quarter of 2016.
Jetairfly brings Boeing Dreamliner to Belgium
Boeing and Jetairfly have celebrated the delivery of the airline’s first 787. The airplane departed Paine Field in Everett earlier on its delivery flight to Brussels. “We are very excited about the Jetairfly Dreamliner entering service as the first and only 787 operated by a Belgian airline,” said Elie Bruyninckx, chief executive, TUI Belgium.
Boeing begins testing on third 787-9 Dreamliner
Today Boeing flew the third 787-9 Dreamliner, the first to be powered by General Electric GEnx engines. The third of three 787-9s dedicated to the test effort, ZB021 joined the fleet some two months from the inaugural flight of the first 787-9.
